COVID-19 Travel Ban Disrupts 'Indiana Jones 5' Filming in Morocco

The Moroccan decision to suspend air links with the United Kingdom due to the surge in Covid-19 cases is having a negative impact on the "Indiana Jones" film, the fifth installment of which is currently being filmed in Morocco.

The filming of the "Indiana Jones" series has taken up residence in Fez in October. Following this, Morocco suspended its flights with the United Kingdom on October 21, which has disrupted the filming. At the beginning of this month, it had been announced that the American international actor, Harrison Ford, 79, who plays Indiana Jones, was expected in Morocco on October 14, 2021, after the Italy stage.

Currently, more than 100 crew members are preparing a stunt in the city of Fez. But the return of those who have arrived in Morocco to their country of origin is proving complicated. "The flight ban has messed everything up," a source told The Sun. "We don’t know what will happen once the scene is finished, but they could get a special exemption to go home," the same source adds.

In London, Glasgow and Northumberland, the filming of the series has also been disrupted by storms, the Covid-19 pandemic or Harrison Ford’s injuries. These various disruptions have also led to the postponement of the release of Indiana Jones 5, initially scheduled for the summer of 2022 to June 30, 2023.
