COVID-19 Surge in Morocco Raises Alarm in Spain as Experts Warn of Mismanagement

The epidemiological situation in Morocco is of great concern to Spain, due to the spread of the Coronavirus and the discovery of new outbreaks of infection in the kingdom.
According to El País, 11 international experts have sounded the alarm on the alarming situation in certain countries, including Morocco, which were nevertheless cited as a reference during the first wave of the epidemic.
The sharp increase in incidence and mortality rates would be attributable, according to the report, to poor management of the deconfinement, the absence of surveillance and monitoring mechanisms for the evolution of the Coronavirus, and the non-compliance by citizens with barrier gestures.
In this regard, the Spanish media specifies that Morocco is very poorly off compared to its neighbors, due to the presence of uncontrolled epidemic outbreaks in the cities of Marrakech and Casablanca. The country will hardly be able to avoid a deadlier second wave, warns the media.
