COVID-19 Patients Protest Poor Conditions at Kenitra Hospital, Threaten to Leave

Accusing Kenitra hospital of poor reception conditions, Covid-19 patients threatened on Monday to leave the center. Since then, real negotiations have been opened with the health authorities.
After spending a first night under a tent set up at the entrance of the hospital, without food, without water, without blankets, these protesting patients refused to go to the health isolation unit dedicated to coronavirus cases at the El Idrissi hospital complex.
"The situation was about to get out of control when protesters began to hurl insults, accusing the hospital management of marginalizing them, even though they included children and people with chronic illnesses," reports the daily Al Massae, specifying that it is about ten people infected with Covid-19.
The patients even tried to leave the hospital, their bags in hand. They were prevented from doing so by the public forces. Since then, the entire vicinity of the hospital has been placed under heavy police surveillance and real negotiations have been engaged with the protesting patients.
After several hours of negotiations, the patients agreed to integrate an isolation unit in a solid building, but where everything is lacking. The anger does not subside, with a new attempt to escape.
Only the firm promise to install them in a worthy unit was able to calm them down.
Meanwhile, photographs and videos of these events have been circulating on the Web, eliciting many outraged reactions.
