COVID-19 Cases Detected Among Moroccan Migrants in Spanish Enclave of Ceuta

The nine new coronavirus cases detected in Ceuta are linked to the recent mass arrivals from Morocco. This is what the Spanish Ministry of Health indicated on Thursday, during its daily update on the evolution of the epidemiological situation in the country.
The Spanish Ministry of Health recorded 8 new coronavirus cases on Thursday, May 20, in addition to another case detected by the National Institute of Health Management (Ingesa); bringing the number of new cases recorded in Ceuta in recent days to 9, reports El Faro de Ceuta. According to the ministry, all these cases, mostly minors aged between 15 and 19, come from Morocco.
One of the detected cases has been placed under emergency observation, Ingesa said, adding that the 8 other remaining cases are also receiving care at the hospital center. 79 contact persons have also been placed in quarantine, Ingesa adds, recalling that out of the 105 people examined between Wednesday and Thursday after the massive entry of Moroccans into the city of Ceuta, six had to be hospitalized due to a diabetic crisis. In total, 410 people are currently being cared for by Ingesa.
Ingesa has also detected new positive cases among the residents or residents of Ceuta from those recorded in the batch of Moroccans who arrived in mass in Ceuta. The Center did not fail to launch an appeal for appeasement and to reassure the citizens of Ceuta about the health measures taken to preserve their health in the face of the migratory movements observed in recent days.
