Couple Caught Using Ambulance for Illicit Lockdown Escape to Safi

A couple, apparently fed up with the confinement measures, found a way to violate the state of emergency. They rented the services of an ambulance driver to go to Safi.
Arrived at a checkpoint of the royal gendarmerie, a few kilometers from Safi, the agents, during the search of the ambulance, found that it was transporting the married couple.
Trying to show some ingenuity, the two spouses pretended to be sick people. But their alibi did not hold for long, as they eventually admitted to having rented the ambulance driver’s services, in exchange for 3,000 dirhams.
The 3 people involved were taken into custody, pending their appearance before the public prosecutor’s office, pending their trial for violation of the state of emergency.
