Coronavirus Disrupts Supply Chain for Casablanca’s Major Commercial Hub

The halt of Chinese exports due to the coronavirus is not helping the business of "Derb Omar", the commercial district of Casablanca. There is great concern for the turnover of the users of this giant shopping center if solutions are not found very quickly to counter the virus.
The commercial district "Derb Omar" is running at a slow pace since the appearance of the coronavirus. A situation that has seriously impacted the import and distribution activities of goods from China. Goods imported from this country, particularly those in plastic, toys and fabrics, are starting to run out; which will also affect retailers.
Hoping that the coronavirus will be eliminated, Abderrahman, a merchant from "Derb Omar", confided that several large stores are out of stock of Chinese goods, while they are unable to import others due to the epidemic.
Meanwhile, the prices of some goods, due to their scarcity and speculation, could experience a dizzying increase. Also, a considerable decrease in the attendance of the commercial district is observed, which used to know an unparalleled affluence. According to Hespress, after the announcement of the first case of coronavirus in Casablanca, several other shopping centers in the economic capital have also been running at a slow pace for a few weeks.
