Controversial Comeback: Saad Lamjarred’s High-Priced Concert Sparks Debate After Rape Case Hiatus

The Moroccan singer Saad Lamjarred will perform on July 12 in El Jadida, after nine years without a live show due to the rape case. While this concert is generating enthusiasm among fans, the pre-sale tickets are causing controversy.
The pre-sale tickets are reaching dizzying prices: 950 dirhams for "silver" tickets and 1750 dirhams for "gold" tickets, including several advantages. These rates are far from unanimous among Internet users. For some, these "excessive prices" are inaccessible to a large part of the singer’s fans, who are very popular in all social classes in Morocco. On the other hand, others believe that Saad Lamjarred’s return in a high-end setting justifies this high pricing grid, especially with the promise of a show rich in surprises and artistic entertainment, aiming to offer a unique experience. The young artist Mohamed Atef will open the concert. Fnaire will share the stage with Saad for the first time. Together, they will perform their duet "Asif Habibi" more than five years after its release.
Recently, the Moroccan singer released a new single titled "Riskina". It is the result of a new collaboration with director Amir Rouani, who had already signed the successful video clip of "Lm3allem", which became a major turning point in the artist’s career thanks to its record views on YouTube. Written by Mohamed Amir, jointly composed by Lazaro and Salah Moujahid, with musical arrangements signed by Zouhair Hassadi, Saad’s new single "blends Moroccan rhythms and artistic modernity, illustrating Lamjarred’s desire to reconnect with his success while keeping his roots."
