Comedian Wahid Bouzidi, Star of Jamel Comedy Club, Dies at 45

The Franco-Algerian comedian and emblematic figure of the Jamel Comedy Club, Wahid Bouzidi, died at the age of 45, as announced by his official Facebook account.
On vacation in Marrakech, he had suffered a stroke on Wednesday, August 16 and had to be hospitalized urgently. Beyond his talents as a comedian, revealed in particular through his one-man-show "Wahid... he gets up", he had also made his mark on the big screen with films such as "Case départ" or "Nicky Larson and the Cupid’s Perfume".
Personalities pay tribute to the comedian
Following this sad news, several celebrities expressed their grief on social media. DJ Abdel evoked the "precious moments" shared with Wahid. For his part, the presenter Arthur recalled "years of crazy laughter in Vendredi tout est permis", while sending his thoughts to the artist’s family and loved ones. Actress Leïla Bekhti saluted his "benevolent and luminous smile".
Wahid Bouzidi had already suffered two strokes in the past
Wahid Bouzidi had already faced the harsh reality of strokes twice in the past. He had even confessed, in an interview for Le Courrier de l’Atlas in September 2021, that following these incidents, doctors doubted he could return to the stage. But the artist had continued his career despite these trials.
