The comeback of a TV star after an infection in Morocco
The former star of The real housewives of Beverly Hills, Brandi Glanville, announced that she was feeling "much better" after suffering from a parasitic infection contracted in Morocco. Her face had been disfigured during a shoot in 2023. She is now embarking on a "fresh start".
Brandi Glanville’s ordeal reportedly began in 2023, during the filming of the show The Real Housewives Ultimate Girls Trip: Ex-Wives Club 2 in Morocco, recalls the Daily Mail. She claims to have contracted a parasitic infection on site that has deformed her features.
Desperate, she spent more than $130,000 on various treatments in an attempt to solve the problem, consulting more than 20 doctors and even going so far as to burn her face with a depilatory cream in an attempt at self-medication. This medical wandering has left her in debt and exhausted, to the point that she confesses to having reached a stage where she "no longer wanted to be there".
A New York doctor to the rescue
The turning point came this summer, thanks to an interaction on the social network X (formerly Twitter). After launching a public call for help, she was contacted by an infectious disease and immunology specialist based in New York. Although the precise diagnosis has not been revealed, the treatment seems to have worked.
In mid-August, Brandi Glanville shared photos showing a clear improvement in her appearance. "It’s been a slow process, but I’m finally getting back to my normal routine and feeling like myself again," she told Us Weekly. Now settled in a new home to mark this "fresh start", she says she is ready to resume a social life and will soon attend a public event, thus marking her return after this ordeal.
