Colombian Man Arrested Attempting Illegal Border Crossing from Spain to Morocco

A Colombian citizen was arrested on Friday by the Civil Guard, in collaboration with the Moroccan security forces, as he was trying to illegally leave Spain via the Ceuta border with Morocco.
On Friday around 1 p.m., civil guards spotted an individual climbing the fence at the Ceuta border to reach Morocco. Thanks to the quick reaction of the agents who alerted the Moroccan authorities, the individual, who had managed to cross the fence, was pushed back to the Spanish side, reports El Faro de Ceuta.
Of Colombian origin, the suspect had identity documents on him. He has no criminal record and is not the subject of any search or arrest warrant, according to the investigations carried out by the Civil Guard. But a second identity document, with different information and a different photograph, was found on him, leading the agents to entrust the suspect to the national police for a more thorough investigation.
For the moment, no incriminating information has been found on this individual, says the national police headquarters, stressing that the person is in order in Spain. The investigations continue to elucidate this unusual attempt coming from a Colombian citizen.
