Club Med Explores New Investment Opportunities in Moroccan Tourism

Exchanges between the Minister of Tourism, Air Transport, Crafts and Social Economy, Mohamed Sajid, and the CEO of Club Med, Henri Giscard d’Estaing, last Thursday, show that the French group is interested in new investment ideas in Morocco.
According to L’Economiste, this interview between the two officials focused on ways to launch new projects in the Kingdom. Sajid welcomed the place and positioning of the French group in Morocco, stressing that the promotion of its tourism product and investment in new promising destinations will have the effect of reviving the tourism dynamic, highlighting the country’s potential in the sector and offering jobs to young people.
The press release from the Minister of Tourism, Air Transport, Crafts and Social Economy in particular stressed the important contribution of Club Med to development. According to L’Economiste, which reported this to us, the minister "considered that the changes taking place in the tourism sector, its potential, traditions and cultural assets will undoubtedly make it possible to promote the Club Med’s vision for the expansion of its tourism activity in Morocco".
For his part, Giscard d’Estaing expressed "his determination to cooperate with a group of Moroccan tourism developers and travel agencies, with the conclusion of partnerships in the fields of hotels and tourism". The two parties agreed to "consolidate and develop the achievements made and launch new projects in new Moroccan destinations, in accordance with international standards in this area".
Having already presented its new strategy for Morocco in 2017, Club Med is asserting itself as one of the largest investors and tour operators in the tourism sector at the level of the Kingdom where it has major partners, such as the Caisse de Dépôt et de Gestion.
