Club Bruges Striker Talbi Weighs National Team Options Between Morocco and Belgium

Belgian-Moroccan striker Chemsdine Talbi of Club Bruges is spoiled for choice. He is having a hard time choosing between Morocco, his country of origin, or Belgium, his country of birth, as his sporting nationality.
"I have not yet made a decision regarding the selection I will represent in the future. I am in contact with the Moroccan and Belgian federations. I will think about it and discuss it with my family," said Chemsdine Talbi in an interview with RTL Sport. He carries both his countries in his heart. "Morocco is an important country for me, just like Belgium. I spend my holidays in Morocco and I am very close to my family there. It is therefore a difficult choice, but over time, I will make the best decision in consultation with my loved ones," he acknowledged.
The young talent has defended the colors of the Belgian national teams in the under-15, 17 and 19 age categories. The Belgian Federation is making efforts to retain him, but he has not yet decided. The 19-year-old player believes he still has time to decide on his sporting nationality. "I still have time ahead of me, I am young. For now, I prefer to focus on my club, Club Bruges. As for my decision on the selection, it will come later."
Chemsdine joined Club Bruges KV in 2015. In 2022, he extended his contract with the club until June 2025. The club’s management plans to extend his contract in order to block the way for potential recruiters. The profile of the Belgian-Moroccan prodigy interests several European clubs such as LOSC and Monaco in Ligue 1, Leipzig, Wolfsburg and Frankfurt in Germany, PSV and Ajax in the Eredivisie or Sassuolo in Serie A.
