Clashes Erupt in Amsterdam as Ajax-Maccabi Tel-Aviv Match Turns Violent

Violent clashes between supporters broke out on Thursday in Amsterdam, before and after the match between Ajax and the Israeli team Maccabi Tel-Aviv in the Europa League. Members of the Moroccan and Turkish communities would be involved in these incidents.
According to Israeli media, Maccabi Tel-Aviv supporters were attacked by a group of Dutch citizens of Turkish and Moroccan origin after the match. Initially, Dutch citizens of Turkish origin chased a Maccabi supporter after apparently stealing his passport, then tried to push him into the river. The Maccabi officials said they were aware of the incident and that the supporter in question had not suffered any injuries.
Subsequently, Dutch citizens of Turkish and Moroccan origin attacked other Maccabi supporters in front of a casino in Amsterdam, the same sources indicate, noting that two supporters, apparently injured and with blood on their faces, were later seen inside the casino.
According to the Dutch site NOS, the Dutch police on Thursday evening pushed back many pro-Palestinian youths of Moroccan and Turkish origin from the vicinity of the Johan Cruijff stadium, where the match was to take place, who wanted to demonstrate against the presence of the Israeli team Maccabi Tel-Aviv. On the instructions of the mayor of Amsterdam, the demonstration took place one kilometer from the stadium to avoid any disturbances.
