Civil Guard Rescues Two Moroccan Swimmers Attempting Illegal Entry into Ceuta

Civil Guard maritime service agents in Ceuta rescued two young Moroccans, residents of M’diq and Fnideq, who were attempting to reach the city of Ceuta.
The two young men, rescued by the Civil Guard agents, were transported safely to the shore before being taken care of by the Red Cross and placed in quarantine according to the current health protocol.
The two Moroccans, dressed in diving suits, tried to reach Ceuta by swimming, at the risk of their lives. Many desperate Moroccans, no longer able to bear the closure of the borders and the resulting economic crisis, are increasingly choosing this option to illegally immigrate to Spain.
Deaths and disappearances, as well as last-minute rescues at sea, have become commonplace since the borders were closed due to the Covid-19 health crisis.
