Civil Guard Busts Major Hashish Trafficking Ring in Southern Spain, 16 Arrested

The Civil Guard dismantled on Tuesday a vast network of Moroccan hashish trafficking in the Campo de Gibraltar. In total, 16 people were arrested.
The operation carried out on Tuesday and involving 150 civil guards in Andalusia and Murcia, made it possible to put an end to the activities of this hashish trafficking network, considered one of the most active in the Strait of Gibraltar. It is the result of an investigation opened at the beginning of the year, where the Civil Guard began to follow the activities of this criminal group, relays Europa Sur.
In total, the operation led to the arrest of 16 people. The investigations revealed that the traffickers hid the drugs in the wheels of trucks to cross the strait. A significant quantity of drugs was found in a tire production workshop, located in the La Menacha industrial zone in Algeciras.
This place served as a warehouse for the criminal organization, which used the tires of heavy goods vehicles to transport the drugs from Morocco to the Campo de Gibraltar. Investigators also carried out searches in 15 places spread across several cities such as Algeciras, San Roque, Los Barrios, Roquetas de Mar (Almería), Mollina (Malaga) and Cartagena (Murcia).
