Chinese Medical Team to Begin Two-Year Mission in Moroccan City

A Chinese medical delegation will soon be in Essaouira for a two-year mission. Composed of 11 specialist doctors, this team will put its expertise at the service of the health centers in the Moroccan city in order to improve the quality of care provided to the local population.
The team will arrive from the Minhang district in China and will provide services in the following specialties: general surgery, orthopedic surgery, gynecology-obstetrics, cardiology, ophthalmology and ENT, according to a press release from the local government of the Chinese district published on its website.
"All team members have over 15 years of professional experience in their areas of specialization and have undergone a five-month training in preparation for their work abroad," the note states, specifying that before their departure for Morocco, the team received the wise advice of a great professor who shared with them his experience of working in Moroccan hospitals and with medical teams in the kingdom.
During the farewell ceremony, the vice president of the general surgery department of the "Fifth People’s Hospital" in Shanghai and head of the medical team sent to Errachidia, declared that the experience of each of the specialists "will be very useful to provide high-quality medical services to the local population", urging the team to "ensure that each patient receives effective and timely treatment".
The president of the Minhang district, for his part, asked the team to "show responsibility, courage and dedication to help patients and save lives", urging them to work, despite "language barriers and lack of medical resources", to "preserve the reputation of Chinese doctors during this mission" and to contribute to the training of Moroccan medical teams.
