Chinese, Israeli, and American Tourists Boost Morocco’s Tourism Revenue

For a few months now, tourism revenues have been on the rise in Morocco, largely thanks to the spending of foreign tourists. The Chinese, Israeli (of Moroccan origin) and American clienteles are the biggest spenders, according to professionals.
At the end of last May, tourist arrivals almost quadrupled compared to the same period last year, going from 501,000 to 2.3 million people, according to the Directorate of Studies and Financial Forecasts (DEPF).
This increase in tourist flows observed since the lifting of barrier measures and the resumption of international flights has led to an increase in tourism revenues, which constitutes a considerable windfall for the national economy, reports SRNT News.
Among these visitors, some are major contributors to the sector, according to professionals, specifying that several factors favor their spending. Thus, the nationalities most cited are three in number: Americans, Israelis (of Moroccan origin) and Chinese.
The same source points out that Americans and Israelis seem to have similar consumption habits, the two save on accommodation. They avoid high-end establishments in favor of souvenirs and craft products. On the other hand, Chinese tourists have different consumption habits, it is specified. They are hardly interested in crafts, but spend large sums of money on hotels and restaurants.
