China Pledges $14 Million for Morocco’s Education and Tech Projects

A cooperation agreement signed on Tuesday in Rabat between Morocco and China provides for a 140 million dirham donation for public projects.
The convention was initialed by the Minister of Economy and Finance Mohamed Benchaâboun as well as the Chinese Ambassador to Morocco, Li Li, and aims to "underline the excellence of Sino-Moroccan relations and consolidate the economic and commercial cooperation established between the two countries".
This donation will be used, according to the ambassador, for pilot projects in several strategic sectors for the kingdom, such as national education or information technology, adding that his country is ready to support "the economic and social development of Morocco and to make its accumulated expertise available to it in several fields".
"The two countries have a common and strong will to move forward in their cooperation which dates back several years while further deepening their strategic partnership in several areas," Li Li also said.
