Chelsea Joins Race with PSG for Inter Milan’s Achraf Hakimi Transfer

Moroccan international Achraf Hakimi is also in the sights of the London club, Chelsea. The recent winner of the Champions League wants to attract the right-back from Inter Milan, who must face stiff competition from PSG.
Even if the negotiations are very advanced, Achraf Hakimi is not yet a PSG player. Inter Milan, in financial crisis, would want more than the 60 million euros proposed by Nasser al-Khelaïfi. This reopens the odds on the next destination of the player who interests many European clubs. PSG will have to review its offer with Chelsea’s entry into the game. The professional career of the Atlas Lion has been closely followed for a few years by the London club who are apparently trying to secure the player’s services to strengthen their team.

Moreover, sports observers estimate that in the three-defender system of the Blues, Hakimi would fit perfectly into the profile of the right wing-back and the current holder, Reece James, is not destined to stay there forever. Thomas Tuchel has started playing him as a right center-back and it is in this position currently occupied by Azpilicueta (32 in August) that he sees his future rather than a notch higher, hence a possible recruit. The Blues are also thinking of Adama Traoré of Wolverhampton to strengthen themselves, a much cheaper track than Hakimi and which could be favored since Chelsea intends to invest heavily in a center-forward, a very expensive position.

Even if Inter risk dragging things out in order to receive the best offer, there is still a limit since the transfer must be completed before June 30. But for now, the most prolific full-back in Europe is currently on the national team and is preparing with his teammates to face Ghana and Burkina Faso on June 8 and 12, 2021.
