Chelsea’s Hakim Ziyech Nears Move to Saudi Pro League
A Saudi club is very close to recruiting the Moroccan international Hakim Ziyech who would be ready to join the Saudi Pro League during the winter transfer window.
Saudi Arabia, the next destination for Hakim Ziyech? The management of Al-Fateh "has received a preliminary and verbal approval from the Moroccan international to join" the club, the Saudi press believes, specifying that the negotiations between the two parties have not yet been finalized.
With six points, Al-Fateh occupies the last place in the standings. The club is currently looking for players like Ziyech to strengthen its squad and hope to get out of the relegation zone. It remains to be seen whether the 31-year-old player, who is looking to join a more stable team in terms of results, will really be tempted by this adventure. In the event of a final agreement, the Atlas Lion will join his Moroccan compatriots Marouane Saâdane and Mourad Batna.
In addition to Al-Fateh, several European clubs, notably Ipswich Town and Wolverhampton in the English Premier League, as well as OGC Nice in France, have expressed interest in the former Ajax star.
Fallen out of favor with his coach, Okan Buruk, Ziyech will have to find a new club. The Galatasaray management has authorized the Atlas Lion to negotiate with other clubs in anticipation of his imminent departure, after he was sidelined from Okan Buruk’s plans, who did not use him for most of this season, reported Haluk Yürekli. As a result, he has only played five games this season and provided one assist.
