Chelsea Goalkeeper Sami Tlemçani Switches Allegiance from Morocco to Algeria

Chelsea goalkeeper Sami Tlemçani will no longer defend the colors of Morocco. He has turned his back on the country of origin of his mother to join Algeria, the country of origin of his father.
Sami Tlemçani now with the Algerian U23s? In a photo posted on social media, we see the Moroccan international posing with an Algerian national team jersey. The Algerian Football Federation (FAF) has started the procedures for his change of sports nationality and he will be called up with the Algerian U23 selection, already rejoice Algerian media.

Born in France in 2004, Sami started his training at Créteil Jugend before joining Paris FC in 2018. He had been called up by France U16 in 2019. That same year, he had been called up by Morocco U17. In 2021, he had responded to the call of Vahid Halilhodzic, then coach of the Moroccan national team.
