Chelsea Clinch European Super Cup as Ziyech Scores, Exits with Injury

Chelsea won the European Super Cup for the second time in their history. A nice reward for Hakim Ziyech who opened the scoring in the 27th minute before leaving the game due to an injury, in the 43rd minute of play.
Chelsea won Wednesday night in Belfast the European Super Cup after a long penalty shootout against Villarreal. A victory to which the Moroccan international Hakim Ziyech greatly contributed by scoring the first goal of the match. Even though he left the game because he was injured, he remains a key contributor to this consecration of the Blues.
Trailing 1-0, Villarreal was very offensive after the break. It was then that in the 73rd minute, Gerard Moreno equalized for the Spaniards on a decisive pass from Boulaye Dia. The score remained unchanged until the fateful penalty shootout. A successful gamble for German coach Thomas Tuchel who managed to bring in second-choice goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga.
The goalkeeper and Hakim Ziyech remain undoubtedly the makers of this victory. The former for having deflected the attempts of Aïssa Mandi and captain Raul Albiol, and the Moroccan for having given the advantage to his team from the start.
