Chefchaouen Emerges as Key Destination in Morocco’s Tourism Strategy

A study unveiled on Tuesday in Casablanca by the Moroccan National Tourist Office (ONMT) reveals that Chefchaouen has a prime place in the Moroccan tourism landscape. According to the Office, the city has major assets that can attract tourists.
Chefchaouen carries the shimmering and flamboyant image of a Morocco rich in colors, noted the Director General of the ONMT, Adel El Fakir, during his presentation at the Tourism Marketing Days. Initiated by the ONMT, Tourism Marketing Days is an event that brings together all tourism professionals around the strategic issues of the sector, especially in the current context marked by the covid-19 pandemic, reports the MAP.
The study reveals an imaginary of the country dominated by medinas, souks, crowds, crafts, scents, colors and music, noted Adel El Fakir, noting that the cultural dimension and authenticity are at the forefront of this image. "During the month of June, we initiated this study which covered all the priority markets and which we also extended to other promising markets," he noted.
For the official, the study aims to sell the Moroccan destination, to connect with potential customers, to regain their trust. The study is also a tool at the service of professionals in the sector around the watchword "Act, Reconquer, Now!".
