Ceuta Prepares for Surge of Moroccan Travelers Ahead of Eid al-Adha and Operation Marhaba

The government delegate of Ceuta praised the "complicity" and "cordiality" with Morocco, one month before the launch of Operation Marhaba.
Cristina Pérez assured the good state of bilateral relations between Spain and Morocco and that preparations for Operation Marhaba are progressing well. Civil protection is active, with all stakeholders, for a successful organization of Operation Marhaba which starts on June 15, added the official who nevertheless expects a significant flow of MREs at the border before June 6, the date on which Eid al-Adha is celebrated this year.
"In the end, it is we who must make ourselves available to citizens, without forgetting to ensure that there are no traffic jams on the N-352 in order to avoid any delays, especially for emergency vehicles going to the university hospital," she specified.
The government delegate also expressed hope for the intensification of imports from Morocco after the recent opening of the commercial customs. "We will continue to ensure that the demands of the Ceuta business community are met through an agile commercial customs office where more than one truck per day can enter, as is already the case," Perez said.
