Ceuta Party Demands Action on ’Chaotic’ Morocco Border Crossing

The Ceuta Ya! party is preparing to question the government about the situation at the land border with Morocco during the next plenary session of the Assembly. The political group will ask what measures the Executive intends to implement to end what they call chaos.
"The current situation of transit through the Tarajal border is a real torture for thousands of citizens," said the secretary general of the Ceuta Ya! party, emphasizing that this border "has once again become, as in the past, a kind of ’lawless city’ where the most repugnant confusion reigns."
Mohamed Mustafa added that "the security forces are acting under political orders of unknown origin and with serious suspicions of arbitrariness." Faced with this situation, Ceuta Ya! plans to ask, during the next plenary session of the Assembly, for explanations from the government of the autonomous city and "what it intends to do about this disorder that affects the citizens of Ceuta in their daily lives," reports El Faro de Ceuta.
In recent days, several residents of Ceuta as well as Moroccans have denounced the chaos at the Moroccan border. One of them confided that Moroccan customs had taken away the bag of food he was transporting to Morocco. "It’s a shame that a person can’t bring a gift to their family in Morocco, not even a box of milk," lamented the person concerned.
He continued: "This didn’t just happen to me, but also to other people who were transporting purchases. I don’t understand why this continues to happen. It seems to me that they are discriminating against the inhabitants of Ceuta. The passenger regime is not being respected."
