Ceuta Officials Absent from Key Meeting on Major Spain-Morocco Transit Operation

No Ceuta official was present at the preparatory meeting for Operation Marhaba held last week in Algeciras and attended by all stakeholders. An absence deemed "unacceptable" by the Confederation of Businessmen of Ceuta (CECE).
The Port Authority of the Bay of Algeciras, which manages the ports of Algeciras and Tarifa, the general directors of the Spanish and Moroccan merchant marines, representatives of the ports of Tanger-Med and Tanger-Ville, as well as the president of the State Ports, Álvaro Rodríguez Dapena, attended this important meeting.
The businessmen of Ceuta find it inconceivable that no representative of the autonomous city participated in this session during which measures were decided to facilitate the transit of Moroccans from Europe this summer as part of Operation Marhaba, reports El Faro de Ceuta.
"Despite the significant logistical, economic and social impact of the Operation for the city of Ceuta, the port representatives were not present at this meeting," are surprised the businessmen who have sent a letter to the Government Delegation and the president of the State Ports to request that at least one representative of the port of the city be invited to the next meetings concerning the organization of Operation Marhaba.
