Ceuta Halts Repatriation of 350 Stranded Moroccans Amid Border Dispute

On Sunday morning, May 8, the Moroccan government sent 8 buses to Ceuta to repatriate the 350 Moroccans stranded in the Spanish enclave. A surprise decision by the authorities of the city, however, put an end to the operation.
According to the Akhbarona website, the local government of the presidium would have issued a different list from the one agreed upon during the closure of the borders. This would have gone from single to double, with the integration of illegal immigrants and minors.
While the Moroccan government was expecting to receive the passport numbers of the 350 people, the Spanish authorities would have deliberately added another 350, without taking into account the agreement reached with their Moroccan counterparts.
The Spanish initiative would not have been appreciated by Morocco, knowing that the two authorities had previously agreed, in a previous exchange of correspondence, to discuss the case of illegal immigrants and minors.
