Ceuta to Enroll 250 Moroccan Migrant Minors in Separate School Classes

The Moroccan minors who entered the city of [Ceuta] on May 17 and 18 will be enrolled in school at the next school year. The authorities of the city, in coordination with the Spanish Ministry of Education, have selected five high schools for this purpose, and are already working to set up the corresponding classrooms.
Aged between 12 and 16, the approximately 250 minors concerned will receive an education in the Clara Campoamor, Almina, Abyla, Siete Colinas and Luis de Camoens institutes, reports the Spanish daily El Mundo, specifying that however, these children will remain in different rooms from the other students.
Thus, since Tuesday, José Manuel Bar Cendón, Director General of Planning and Education Management, was in Ceuta, followed by María del Ángel Muñoz, Deputy Director General of Centers, Inspections and Programs, for the implementation of this decision.
In addition, the first and second deputy mayors of the city (Mabel Deu and Carlos Rontomé) met with officials from the Ministry of Education and Vocational Training to respond to the orthopedagogical approach, the statement added, recalling that in the meantime, the Moroccan and Spanish governments have launched an operation to repatriate unaccompanied Moroccan minors. An operation interrupted following a court decision.
