Ceuta Cancels Eid Al-Adha Celebration Amid COVID-19 Concerns

The epidemiological situation in the city of Ceuta is still in the red. As a result, the local government has decided to cancel the Eid Al-Adha celebration, originally scheduled for the end of July.
According to the city’s spokesman, Alberto Gaitán, the cancellation of this celebration is justified by the ongoing global health crisis.
Last May, the city president, Juan Vivas, had called for the cancellation of all scheduled events during the summer period.
This postponement is also justified by the concern to respect the strict health measures issued by the Ministry of Health to counter this pandemic.
For now, Ceuta remains the only region to have made this decision in order to significantly reduce the COVID-19 pandemic.
