Ceuta Braces for Summer Influx as Moroccan Diaspora Returns Home

Massive traffic jams of Moroccans from Europe arriving in Ceuta as part of Operation Marhaba have been recorded at the Tarajal border since the beginning of this July. The local authorities have taken urgent measures to avoid, it is said, these inconveniences. But they mainly count on the good collaboration of Morocco to quickly facilitate access to its territory.
The authorities of Ceuta no longer want to experience the events of early July when massive traffic jams were noted at the Tarajal border. That is why they plan to implement a new information system on the number of vehicles and waiting times. "It is important that this information be known," said Victor Rios, the general director of Civil Protection, specifying that the channel remains to be defined, even if it would be more effective to do so via a website or social networks.
The flow of MRE vehicles arriving in Ceuta increased again on Thursday, on the occasion of the French national holiday, reports Ceuta Actualidad, which stresses that the authorities of the autonomous city will have to prepare to manage the critical period that is looming in two weeks, at the end of this July, with the start of the return phase of Operation Marhaba. "We can ask the shipping companies to increase the night rotations so that people do not remain at the port," explained Victor Rios.
