Ceuta Adjusts Ramadan Curfew to Accommodate Muslim Prayer Times

The government of Ceuta decided on Thursday to reduce the curfew by one hour, from 6 hours to 5 hours, to allow Muslim worshippers to attend the first morning prayer in mosques, during this holy month of Ramadan.
As of this Sunday, April 25, the curfew will be between 10 pm and 5 am so that Muslims, who represent nearly 40% of Ceuta’s population, can go to the mosque to attend the Al Fajr prayer.
The decree establishing this reduction of the curfew to 5 am was signed by President Juan Jesús Vivas and published on Friday in the Official Journal of Ceuta (BOCCE). Apart from this modification, the other restrictive measures remain in force. These include a limit of a maximum of four people for gatherings in public spaces, a limit of one third of the capacity of gathering places and up to a maximum of 75 people in places of worship, such as mosques.
