CDC Adds Morocco to High-Risk Travel List Amid COVID-19 Concerns

Morocco is now classified by the United States in the high-risk category 3 for travelers. This emerges from the latest Covid-19 guidelines from the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).
The State Department advises travelers to Morocco to reconsider their trip, with the kingdom being classified in category 3. The CDC has added 16 destinations to this category. Among them are Greece, Ireland and the US Virgin Islands.
A level 2 risk designation means that Americans should exercise increased caution if they wish to travel to countries classified in this category, while a "level 4: Covid-19 very high" risk designation means that the CDC advises Americans not to travel to these destinations. If they have to make the trip, they must be fully vaccinated.
"Fully vaccinated travelers are less likely to get and spread Covid-19. However, international travel poses additional risks, and even fully vaccinated travelers may be at increased risk for getting and possibly spreading some Covid-19 variants," the CDC explained.
