Casablanca Zoo Reopening Advances with New Management Contract

The Casablanca municipality should approve this Thursday, during an extraordinary session, the delegated management contract of the Aïn Sebaâ zoological park, whose reopening announced since 2014, is still not effective.

This delegated management contract will be definitively awarded to the company "Dream Village", after the termination of the contract of "Casa Event". According to the terms of the contract, Dream Village will have a period of six months to acquire the 319 animals of 75 different species that will animate the Aïn Sebaâ zoo. The financing of this operation is the responsibility of the municipality of Casablanca.

From 2025 until 2028, the entrance fees to the zoo will be 80 dirhams for adults and 50 dirhams for children, according to the contract. They will respectively increase to 100 dirhams and 60 dirhams in 2029, then to 120 dirhams and 70 dirhams in 2034, it is specified. For family visits, the rate per person will be 60 dirhams instead of 80 dirhams, and 40 dirhams for children until 2028 before rising to 100 dirhams per person in 2034. Students, for their part, will have a special rate of 50 dirhams.

As for the parking fee, it has been set at 15 dirhams. Other activities such as stands, restaurants, etc. will generate resources for Dream Village which, in accordance with the contract, is in charge of the exclusive management of the park, including the maintenance of infrastructures and equipment, the management of parking lots, the maintenance of animals, in compliance with the standards in force.

The delegated company also has the duty to guarantee the safety of the animals and the health of the visitors. Dream Village, for its part, has committed to maintaining the equipment and facilities of the park in good condition during the contract period, and to continue the park’s services even after the expiration of the contract.
