Casablanca Zoo Opening Delayed Again; City Commission Investigates Setbacks

After another postponement of the opening of the Ain-Sebâa zoological park, the Casablanca city hall has set up a commission to monitor the progress of the work.
Initially scheduled for this month of March, this opening has once again been postponed sine die by the municipality. Thus, a commission has been set up by the town hall to determine the bottlenecks.
This mission is composed of the representative of the technical and infrastructure service of the City Council, the developer, as well as the heads of the planning and urban planning services. The conclusions are expected in the next few days.
For Ahmed Afilal Idrissi, 6th vice-president of the Casablanca City Council, interviewed by Snrt News, one of the reasons for this delay would be the absence of a veterinary clinic that would allow to monitor, take care of and treat the animals. The latter can only be transferred to the zoo after the completion of the work and the adaptation of all the provisions planned to remain in compliance with international standards, he specified.
