Casablanca Undergoes Massive Infrastructure Overhaul Ahead of 2030 World Cup

Casablanca is working to strengthen its road infrastructure in order to facilitate travel within the city and outside, in the perspective of the 2030 World Cup.
Major projects are underway in the economic capital, reports Aljarida 24, mentioning the opening and rehabilitation of roads in the Sidi Bernoussi district. In the Hay Hassani district, work is also underway to open the HH26 road at a cost of 120 million dirhams. As for the rehabilitation work on the Taddart road, which connects the Green City to Mohammed V Airport, it is 98% complete. This project, worth 222 million dirhams, aims to improve the connection between the airport and the rest of the city.
The Casablanca authorities also plan to strengthen the road infrastructure between the Casablanca prefecture and the Nouaceur province. This project requires a budget of 2 billion dirhams and consists of widening regional road 320 to a width of 2x3, arranging tunnels, and doubling national road 1 between main road 3003 and road 3001, as well as doubling provincial road 3001.
The objective of these projects is to improve traffic flow and reduce congestion in the city of Casablanca, in anticipation of the 2030 World Cup that Morocco will co-host with Spain and Portugal. They also contribute to supporting economic growth and improving the quality of life for the people of Casablanca.
