Casablanca Taxi Drivers Urge Boycott of Bank Loans and New Vehicle Purchases

Casablanca taxi drivers have called on citizens to boycott bank loans and the purchase of new vehicles due to loss of earnings.
It is on Facebook that groups of Casablanca taxi drivers have launched the call to boycott bank loans, reports Hespress. For them, these loans are not only "contrary to religion", but also to the purchase of new vehicles, indicates the same source.
They believe that a purchased vehicle means the loss of a customer. And the complaints are legion: the money to be paid to the owners of the permits, the rise in the price of fuel, the rent, the schooling of the children, unprofitable journeys...
"This call is totally absurd and has no reason to be. These are just words in the air, which some taxi drivers share in order to undermine the sector. On the contrary, we (UNT), as a union, encourage people to buy new vehicles and take out loans in order to meet their needs," said Abdelmajid Malhin, secretary general of the National Union of Taxis (UNT). According to him, these newcomers are just trying to sow discord in the sector.
