Casablanca Schools to Reopen October 5th as Morocco Extends Curfew Amid COVID-19 Surge

The government has authorized schools, colleges and high schools in Casablanca, the epicenter of the coronavirus in Morocco, to reopen as of October 5th. It has also extended the curfew for two weeks due to the resurgence of new infections.
Nearly a month after deciding to postpone the start of the school year, during a council of government, the government has opted for the resumption of classes in person, reports Le 360. This decision now relieves parents of students, who have been anxious since the announcement of this government measure. As for the curfew, it will be maintained at the usual hours (between 10 p.m. and 5 a.m.).
As for the other provisions in force, namely the closure of businesses, cafes at 8 p.m. and the closure of restaurants at 9 p.m., they have been extended pending an improvement in the serological situation in this city, heavily affected by the Covid-19 epidemic.
