Casablanca Ranks as Morocco's Top City in Global Influence Index

The annual "Global Cities Index 2024" report by Oxford Economics has released its ranking of the most influential cities in the world. Several Moroccan cities are on this list.

According to the latest annual "Global Cities Index 2024" report by Oxford Economics, Casablanca is the most influential Moroccan city. It ranks 442nd among the most influential metropolises in the world. The White City owes this position to its dynamism and its ability to attract foreign investment, but also to its many modern infrastructures, its strategic port and its diversified business network that contribute to its competitiveness. Casablanca also ranks 287th in terms of human capital, particularly thanks to its young and dynamic population and its abundant workforce. As for environmental quality, the economic capital ranks 225th worldwide. But it falls in terms of quality of life, ranking 713th.

Rabat, the administrative capital, takes the 504th place in the ranking of the most influential metropolises in the world. It ranks 156th in terms of environment and occupies the 486th place in the human capital ranking and the 742nd place in terms of quality of life. Tangier, for its part, is positioned at the 631st place. It takes the 130th place in terms of environment. On the other hand, Tangier falls, occupying the 727th place in terms of human capital and the 717th place in terms of quality of life. Marrakech is positioned at the 670th place in the ranking of the most influential metropolises in the world. The ochre city takes the 441st place in terms of environment and the 702nd place in terms of quality of life. Fez and Meknes occupy the 684th and 727th places respectively in the ranking of the most influential metropolises in the world.

To compile its ranking, Oxford Economics analyzed 1,000 cities around the world.
