Casablanca Plans 500-Space Underground Parking for Major Sports Events

Casablanca wants to contribute to the successful organization of the Africa Cup of Nations (CAN 2025) and the 2030 World Cup. To this end, the city has undertaken several actions, including the launch of a vast project to create an underground parking lot.
The end of the parking space crisis in Casablanca? The city wants to transform the Arab League Park into an underground parking lot. This parking lot will offer more than 500 parking spaces, spread over a single underground level, covering an area of about 7,000 m², reports Aljarida24. The cost of the project is estimated at 79 million dirhams.
On the ground, demolition operations have been undertaken in recent weeks in the area surrounding the Arab League Park, where the company in charge of renovating the park and building the parking lot has removed the sports and administrative facilities. The Wydad de Casablanca basketball club, the tennis club and the facilities of the Royal Gendarmerie, and other buildings have thus been demolished.
An in-depth study of the growing needs of the inhabitants of Casablanca and its visitors, as well as the major challenges they face due to the lack of parking spaces, led to the launch of the project. This project will not only solve the parking space crisis, but it should also improve the urban aspect of the area and make the park more attractive to visitors. These improvements are not limited to the practical aspect, but also extend to the aesthetic and environmental aspect, thus strengthening the position of the Arab League Park as one of the main tourist and leisure sites in Casablanca.
The construction of the underground park marks the beginning of a series of parking lot creation projects that meet international standards.
