Casablanca InDrive Driver Murder: Deadly Ambush Shocks City
The charred body of a young InDrive driver was discovered in the suburbs of Casablanca. This brutal crime adds to a series of alarming violence targeting transportation professionals, ranging from armed robberies to murders.
The economic capital is going through a particularly distressing period for driving professionals. Before this new tragedy, Casablancans had already been shaken in April by the death of a septuagenarian taxi driver, killed by two colleagues. More recently, on the eve of Eid, a repeat offender armed with a large knife stole a taxi in Hay El Hassani to rob female passengers, before finally being arrested in the act.

It was in this climate of high insecurity that a patrol made a gruesome discovery in a wasteland area of Ouled Azzouz. The victim, a young man in his twenties from Sidi Taïeb in Kénitra province, worked for the InDrive platform. He had given no sign of life since Eid al-Adha.
According to information reported by Al Akhbar, authorities are favoring the theory of a deadly ambush to steal his vehicle, a black Renault Clio that remains missing. Given the severity of the facts, a significant police force, mobilizing forensic units, police dogs and a specialized commando, combed the crime scene thoroughly.

This modus operandi recalls a similar case handled by Rabat police two years ago. Another driver from the same application had been murdered by his two passengers during a ride to Témara, and his body dumped in the Sidi Bettache forest. The perpetrators of this crime are serving life sentences today.
