Casablanca to Host World’s Largest Moroccan Wedding Celebration

Casablanca is preparing to host an extraordinary event: "the largest wedding in the world". On December 7, the Mohammed V sports complex will be transformed into a giant stage to celebrate Moroccan traditions through the reconstruction of a traditional wedding.
The organizers promise a total immersion in Moroccan ancestral customs. From henna to costumes, through traditional music, each stage of the Moroccan wedding will be reconstituted. The public will be divided into two camps: the bride’s family and that of the groom. Together, they will make key decisions, such as the amount of the dowry or the choice of the orchestra.
"This is not just a show, it’s an experience," says a representative of the organization. "We want the public to feel fully involved in this celebration and to come out of it with a better understanding of the richness of our cultural heritage".
The "neggafates", these women in charge of the bride’s preparation, will be part of it, as well as artists who will liven up the evening. The event will also be an opportunity to highlight the cultural diversity of Morocco, with performances inspired by the different regions of the kingdom.
The public is encouraged to come dressed in traditional outfits - caftans for women, djellabas for men - in order to contribute to the authenticity of this celebration.
