Casablanca Eases COVID Restrictions, Event Industry Poised for Comeback

After several months of inactivity due to the exceptional health crisis, event professionals will regain their smile. Gatherings are now authorized in Casablanca.
The decision, welcomed by Mohamed Abdelfadel, Coordinator of the Joint Commission of Food Trades (CMMB), will allow professionals to resume their activities, even if it is with certain restrictions. Cash flow in prospect for companies in the sector who will be able to replenish their treasury, strained by the imposed minimum service, reports the MAP, which stresses that closed spaces are authorized to take less than 50 people and open spaces, less than 100 people. These limits can only be exceeded with the authorization of the local authorities.
While the recovery will be faster for family celebrations such as weddings, to the delight of caterers and all the professions that revolve around them (music and entertainment groups, pastry and transportation), the recovery will be a little slower for large events, given the logistical challenges involved on the eve of the summer season.
It should be noted that the government has come to the rescue of event operators, through lump-sum allowances paid by the National Social Security Fund (CNSS) in the same way as other sectors affected by the health crisis. The long-awaited return to pre-pandemic times depends on collective immunity, a sign of a return to normal life, concludes the media.
