Casablanca Diners Face Fines for Eating Without Masks, Sparking Outrage

Several customers caught dining without masks were fined in restaurants in the Casablanca-Anfa district. This story, widely reported on social media, has caused an uproar.
These police interventions were recorded in several restaurants in the economic capital. Contrary to previous raids, they fined customers who were dining without a protective mask.
Surprised by this 300 DH fine, several victims protested against what they describe as an abuse. Those who had refused to pay the fine on the spot were taken to the police station, while some customers had their identity cards confiscated.
"When we ask how we’re supposed to eat with our masks... no answer... Very aggressive guys... They take you to the police station if you protest..." reacted one of the customers on Facebook.
