Casablanca Deploys 5,000 Workers for Eid Al-Adha Waste Management

The city of Casablanca has pulled out all the stops for better waste management during the Eid Al-Adha festival. An action plan developed by Casablanca Baia is already being implemented, it is said, for a clean city before, during and after the festival.
In addition to the technical action plan for collection, deployment and disinfection of the city, there is also a communication plan aimed at raising public awareness of the gestures to be adopted, especially in this time marked by the Covid-19 pandemic. Jihane Abdelhafid is the communication director of the SDL Casablanca Baia. She explained that this year, everything will be done on the internet and other means that can avoid large gatherings.
The Director also indicated that there is a "strengthening of sweeping, mechanical washing and collection services the day before, the day of the Feast of Sacrifice and the day after through the deployment of significant technical and human resources". This involves 400 vehicles and 5,000 cleaning agents who will be mobilized to carry out this operation. Casablanca Baia has made 120 tons of plastic bags available to the people of Casablanca, which will be distributed among the districts, prefectures, associations, delegates, the Wilaya, the Commune.
It should be noted that the districts have already started awareness-raising among citizens, particularly through digital windows, social networks, the same source specifies.
