Casablanca Cracks Down on ’Poor Man’s Cocaine’ in Major Drug Bust

Casablanca seems to be succeeding in eradicating "Lboufa", the "cocaine of the poor" that silently destroys young Moroccans, from its territory. How did the city go about it?
The implementation of a security strategy based on anticipation and efficiency has enabled the various police services in Casablanca to overcome "Lboufa", the drug that is invading the Moroccan market and destroying the lives of young people. Thus, "a large-scale clean-up campaign was carried out to identify black spots, identify dealers, their accomplices and their possible ramifications," explains Brigadier General Aziz Kamal El Idrissi, head of the judicial police department in Casablanca, in an interview with the weekly La Vie Éco. According to him, this campaign was a great success. Proof of this, the security services in Casablanca seized 1.3 tons of cocaine on October 19, coming from Ecuador and having transited through the Iberian peninsula. A "spectacular seizure", according to the senior Moroccan police officer.
These achievements were made possible thanks to "the security coverage of the city, which is ensured by 13 judicial police services, attached to the thirteen districts of the prefecture, with for each PJ service a narcotics brigade", but also "the creation of four BAG of 170 elements each, whose main mission is to track down criminals for all types of cases: criminal associations, armed robberies, assaults and drug trafficking," said the senior civil servant.
