Casablanca Cracks Down: Beach Harassment and Illegal Rentals Face Daily Scrutiny

The governor of the prefecture of Anfa in Casablanca has instructed the local authorities to carry out daily control campaigns on the beaches under their jurisdiction in order to call to order the unscrupulous parasol renters and car guards who harass the vacationers.
In compliance with these instructions, the authorities of the Aïn Diab-Côte administrative annex have intensified their surveillance operations in recent days, targeting the parasol renters who prevent vacationers from fully enjoying the relaxation areas on the beaches, as well as the illegal car guards who demand money from them.
The ongoing campaigns also target vacationers who set up parasols on the beach, damaging the aesthetics of these spaces. In this context, the authorities also ensure that the delegated companies managing the beaches comply with the specifications signed with the city of Casablanca.
These specifications related to the operation, management and animation of the beaches during the summer season impose conditions in terms of cleanliness, hygiene, organization and maintenance of the facilities, as well as the embellishment of the beaches.
