Global Crackdown: Moroccan Travelers Face Mounting Restrictions Amid Immigration Concerns

Many European and American countries are increasingly imposing restrictions on Moroccan travelers, due to the rise in cases of attempted illegal immigration from Morocco.
In Turkey for example, one of the popular destinations for Moroccans, airlines have started to impose return tickets as a condition of travel in order to reduce cases of entry refusal and repatriation to its territory. Latin American countries such as Colombia have banned the entry of Moroccans and North Africans to its territory, fearing that these regions may become migration routes to North America.
Other countries such as Kazakhstan have tightened visa requirements for Moroccans due to attempts at illegal immigration to Russia and Finland. In Asia, Thailand and Kyrgyzstan have refused several visa applications for Moroccans due to some cases of immigration involving Moroccan women expelled from Gulf countries who choose to stay illegally in these countries.
As for South Korea, it only grants the K-ETA visa after a thorough investigation, due to the increase in complaints about attempted illegal immigration. China, for its part, has intensified controls on Moroccan travelers, especially those visiting the country for the first time. These restrictions on Moroccan travelers are damaging the image of the Moroccan passport and its position in the ranking of the most powerful passports in the world.
