Casablanca Closes Multiple Markets After COVID-19 Outbreak Among Vendors

Several markets in Casablanca have been closed by the local authorities. The detection of many cases tested positive for covid-19 is at the origin of this decision taken by the authorities to limit the spread of the virus.
Contain the spread of the coronavirus in the city of Casablanca. This is the objective pursued by the authorities by deciding to close several markets. Dozens of cases of contamination by the virus have been detected among the ranks of merchants in certain commercial establishments in the economic capital. Among the markets closed in the city to preserve the health of the populations, we find the Badr market located in the Bourgogne district, the wholesale fish market of "Hrawiyine" and that of Hay Chrifa, reports Hespress.
The various cases of contamination recorded are due to the relaxation of compliance with preventive health rules. A source explains that people did not respect the one-meter distance rule in the fish market, for example. She specifies that the wearing of masks is also not respected. The situation is identical at several other markets in Casablanca where users trample on the preventive measures against the coronavirus, the same source reveals. The wholesale fruit and vegetable market, located near the fish market, is still open, despite the non-compliance with preventive measures against the coronavirus.
