Casablanca Bans Café Football Broadcasts Amid Rising COVID-19 Cases

Faced with the increasing cases of Covid-19 contamination, the authorities of Casablanca have taken drastic measures to force the population to respect the preventive measures.
The cafes-restaurants in Casablanca have been ordered not to broadcast football matches anymore. This type of event leads to gatherings prohibited by the measures taken by the authorities to deal with the spread of the coronavirus. In a report, 2M noted the lightness of the population in terms of compliance with preventive measures. An attitude that motivated the implementation of a mixed patrol for the control and fining of offenders.
Some residents of neighborhoods that have seen a sharp rise in cases of contamination denounce the irresponsibility of those who do not wear masks, forget to wash their hands, thus endangering their entourage. These neighborhoods and streets that record many cases of contamination are also "barricaded". The merchants, whom this situation does not suit, given the poor sales, call on the local authorities to "raise awareness and punish through on-the-spot fines," indicates the channel, which stresses that barriers have been set up at the level of the central markets to filter entries and exits.
The ban on cafes-restaurants from broadcasting football matches is causing discontent. Last week, the Federation of Cafe-Restaurant Owners sent a letter to the Ministry of Health to denounce this decision which it describes as "inopportune" and which risks creating a huge shortfall.
