CAS Rejects Munir El Haddadi’s Morocco Switch, FIFA Rule Change Possible

The Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) rejects Munir El Haddadi’s request to join the Moroccan national team. The Royal Moroccan Football Federation (FRMF) takes note but remains confident.
The case of FC Sevilla striker Munir El Haddadi is far from closed. The FRMF led by Fouzi Lekjaa refuses to give up. According to the daily Akhbar Al Yaoum, the body remains hopeful because in rejecting the request made by the FRMF, the CAS also called on the FIFA to modify the regulations recently changed during its last General Assembly of the international football body. This will certainly not be to call into question the change of sports nationality but to improve it. The Munir El Haddadi file could therefore have a favorable outcome.
In rejecting Munir El Haddadi’s file, FIFA blames the FC Sevilla striker for having worn the Spanish Olympic team jersey three times when he was five months over the age of 21, specifies the same source.
